If you've walked the Riverwalk in the last few years, you've seen the golf building change names. First it was FlyingTee. Then it became GolfSuites. For a stretch, it sat vacant on Riverwalk Terrace. Now it's Suite Shots, and this time the deal itself is different, not just the paint job.
The short version: the two tenants before Suite Shots left after lease payment disputes with OneFire, the Muscogee Nation's holding company that owns the Riverwalk property. This time, OneFire didn't just find a third company willing to sign a lease. It put its own money into the building before handing over the keys.
Same Building, Different Deal
In late 2024, the Muscogee Nation National Council approved an $8.5 million improvement plan covering both the golf facility and the broader Riverwalk property, including new public restrooms, parking lot repairs, an interactive water feature, and facade updates across the site, according to reporting from News on 6. Roughly $5 million of that went directly into rebuilding the golf facility itself: new turf, Top Tracer swing tracking in every bay, wind guards, and a full renovation of what had been left behind by GolfSuites.
That distinction matters more than it sounds. FlyingTee and GolfSuites each leased a mostly finished space. Suite Shots opened into a building the landowner had already rebuilt at its own expense, then layered on a mix of income streams a single-concept golf tenant never had: a boutique casino with 36 slot machines, tied to the Creek Nation's RiverSpirit Resort, alongside the golf bays. Three floors, 60 climate-controlled bays, two event spaces, four bars. Outdoor bays run $29 to $59, indoor simulators run $43 to $54 an hour depending on time of day, per details confirmed at the April 17, 2025 grand opening. COO Chuck Johnson said at the time the venue was "built with families, friends, and community in mind." Whether that survives past the ribbon cutting is the actual question, but the incentive structure underneath it looks nothing like what came before.
The Businesses That Moved In While You Were at the Bays
Suite Shots wasn't the only new name to show up on Riverwalk Terrace that spring.
- District Burger opened its second location in April 2025, taking over the spot at 400 Riverwalk Terrace formerly occupied by Bramble Breakfast & Bar. It's the same locally sourced beef menu that earned the Broken Arrow original a strong reception when it opened.
- School of Rock joined the property the same spring, part of the same wave of new leases that followed the Suite Shots announcement.
- Longtime anchors like Burn Co Barbecue and Andolini's Pizzeria have remained on the property alongside newer businesses.
Together, these changes show how Riverwalk Terrace's mix of businesses and attractions has changed over the past sixteen months.
A Different Kind of New Neighbor
The most interesting addition to the property isn't a restaurant or an entertainment venue. It's the Mvskoke Waters Gallery, which opened December 13, 2025 at 500 Riverwalk Terrace, Suite 115. It's the first tribally owned and operated art gallery in the greater Tulsa metro, a fact confirmed by multiple outlets including Mvskoke Media.
The gallery's inaugural show, "Mvskokvlke: Road of Strength," featured close to two dozen artists, among them Dana Tiger, filmmaker Sterlin Harjo, and poet Joy Harjo, co-curated by Bobby C. Martin and Carly Treece. OK Magazine reported that gallery manager Shelley Patrick, a printmaker and fashion designer, had been wanting this her entire life.
What's easy to miss is how fast the gallery has already turned over its programming. The second full exhibit, "Mvskoke Matriarchy: Women of Our Nation," co-curated by Treece and Patrick, ran April 7 through August 1, 2026, meaning the space completed two full rotations in under eight months, a pace closer to a small museum than a typical gallery lease, per the Muscogee Nation's own announcement. If you were saving a visit for later, the Matriarchy show just closed on the first of the month. Regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., free.
The Season That Just Wrapped
Here's a rough timeline of what's actually happened at the Riverwalk over the past year and a half, for anyone who's been meaning to catch up.
| When | What happened |
|---|---|
| April 17, 2025 | Suite Shots opens, first phase of the $8.5M plan |
| Spring 2025 | District Burger and School of Rock join the property |
| December 13, 2025 | Mvskoke Waters Gallery opens |
| April 7, 2026 | Gallery's second exhibit, Mvskoke Matriarchy, opens |
| April 18, 2026 | 2nd Annual RiverWalk Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show |
| June–July 2026 | Thursday Summer Concert Series, 7 to 9 p.m., amphitheater stage |
| July 4, 2026 | America's 250th celebration, fireworks billed as the largest in the Tulsa region |
| August 1, 2026 | Mvskoke Matriarchy exhibit closes |
The concert series, presented by Mythic Press, ran free every Thursday through the amphitheater, with built-in concrete seating and the gated playground open for families before and after sets, according to the Riverwalk's own event page. The car show in April drew what organizers described as hundreds of vehicles into the newly refreshed landscaping and fenced playground area, a detail worth noting because it means the site-wide improvements from the $8.5 million plan, not just the golf building, are visibly finished.
What's Actually Open Right Now
As of mid-August, the concert series has wrapped for the season, but Suite Shots is still running its regular weekend promotions, $5 Marys, mimosas, and screwdrivers on Saturdays and Sundays, confirmed as of this week. The gallery is between exhibits after closing Matriarchy on August 1, so this is a good window to check their hours before a visit rather than assume the current show is still up. Burn Co, Andolini's, and District Burger are running normal hours, and the playground is open daily.
What to Watch Next
Suite Shots is the third golf operator at the Riverwalk, following FlyingTee and GolfSuites. It opened after the property owner rebuilt the golf facility and added a wider mix of revenue streams. The broader development plan also brought in a gallery, a burger concept, a music school, and a calendar of free public events. This gives the new venue a different starting point from the earlier golf operations.
Over time, visitors will see whether Suite Shots is still open in 2027, how the gallery's programming develops, and which businesses join Riverwalk Terrace next. For now, if you live nearby and haven't been down there since the golf building was still called something else, it's worth the walk.
